🔥 LAUNCHED TODAY
Nobody will argue that the epically unplanned WFH experiment is great for productivity. In fact, remote employees are almost 50% more productive than those working in-person.
But they're also more burnt out. Probably because work-life balance is still sitting at the office with that plant you promised you'd go back for.
We get it - if you're anything like us, your calendar is filling up weeks in advance. And you're having a hard enough time stepping away to grab a coffee, eat lunch, or even go to the bathroom. Let alone disconnect at the end of the day.
But all this only adds to the burnout. Luckily, there's an easy trick for preventing it: take a break. Specifically, a 15-minute break every 90 minutes.
I know - when exactly are you supposed to take said break?
Enter BreakBot. AKA the free Google Calendar add-on that automatically puts breaks on your calendar. That way, you don't have to worry about your day filling up. Because even if it does, you'll still get the break you deserve!
NO CODING NEEDED
...if you don't want to, that is! But this is nothing new. Zapier has been leading the no-code movement with their "just a few clicks" integration software since 2011. And last week, they acquired Makerpad, a no-code community, to double down on the mission.
Just like it sounds, this movement is looking to create software that empowers people with zero coding skills to do programming stuff - using a simple visual interface. And by 2022, this movement is projected to be worth $21.2B (up from $3.8B in 2017).
But as of right now, even no-code apps take some skills. For example, Zapier doesn't suggest which apps you should integrate to make the automated processes happen. Or how to set them up.
So, education communities like Makerpad pick up the slack. For the last 2 years, the no-code community has taught people exactly how to leverage apps like Zapier for their business.
The acquisition makes total sense for both companies. Zapier just hit 1.5M users and $140M ARR, but this will almost surely unlock exponential growth. And Makerpad doesn't have to go through the trouble of raising funding.
All while both companies can pretty much continue doing their thing. And your no-code experience gets easier (which is the whole goal of everyone involved).
